BCI is a not-for-profit organisation stewarding the global standards for Better Cotton, and bringing together cotton’s complex supply chain, from the farmers to the retailers. BCI exists to make global cotton production better for the people who produce it, better for the environment it grows in and better for the sector’s future, by developing Better Cotton as a mainstream sustainable commodity.
MIKUTA is a proud member of the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) and is committed to transforming the cotton sector by supporting more sustainable ways to produce cotton. Better Cotton is produced by farmers all over the world that minimise the harmful impact of crop protection practices. They are trained to use water efficiently and care for the availability of water, while also caring for the health of the soil and conserving natural habitats.
By using BCI all of the cotton used in the production of MIKUTA is 100% organic and natural. This contrary to regular mass produced cotton actually it emits 46% less CO2, uses 0% pesticide and up to 91% less water in the process. This makes the products on MIKUTA a great alternative if you have the philosophy to not take from our earth.
